The Energy Belt from Iosa Ghini Associati.

The Solar Energy Belt, created by Iosa Ghini Associati, is an environmentally friendly monorail system designed to link the city of Bologna, Italy train network and the international airport, Aeroporto G.Marconi di Bologna.

Fitted with photovoltaic panels, the Energy Belt will transport people from the train station to the airport, while providing a comfortable and sustainable ride. Each station is also fitted with solar panels to ensure continuous access to renewable energy.

The Energy Belt design incorporates vertical gardens for the stations to ensure stations do not become overheated in the summer and also to retain heat in the winter. The vertical gardens also operate to filter air.
