The NewRicksaw Project.

As more and more countries are cracking down on environmentally unfriendly two-stroke engine rickshaws - the NewRicksaw project – conceptualizes the possibility of zero emission transport in the city, reducing pollution, emissions and noise.

The NewRicksaw Project.

Designed for urban centers, the three-wheel NewRicksaw concept design, complete with lithium-ion batteries, has an electric motor located in each wheel. Similar to various urban rental carsharing or bike rental operations throughout Europe, users will be able to access a NewRicksaw via a club card.

The NewRicksaw generates no emissions during operation, but source electricity to charge the batteries will result in some emissions generated.   However, as alternative energy charging stations become more prevalent, the hope is that low emission concept designs like the urban NewRicksaw project will move closer to reality.
