With some serious tinkering under he hood and the implementation of an aerodynamic redesign of the body, Dutch efficiency enthusiast and inventor Allert Jacobs transformed his 100+mpg (42.5kms/liter) Honda ANF125i Innova motorbike into a recumbent vehicle that gets more than 230MPG (97.8kms/liter), cruising at typical driving speeds.

The reduced air resistance by using streamlining and moving to a smaller cross-section recumbent position and engine updates, result in a vehicle that makes commuting a pleasure while eliminating inefficient use of energy and resources. The only downside seems to be that it is a tad unstable in high winds, because of the aerodynamic shape.

Jacobs’ next goal involves looking for an electric-drive version for his DIY project, which should give him almost zero emissions.
