In case anyone was in doubt of Volkswagen’s commitment to creating greener transport, Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, development chief at VW, recently unveiled the foldable VW Bik.e at the Auto China 2010 show.
The sleek, battery-powered, two-wheeled, pedal-free bicycle has a range of 20km (12.5 miles) per charge with a top cruising speed of 20km (12.5mph). The most impressive part of the VW Bik.e is that it neatly folds into a flat disk that fits into the spare tire compartment.
