Florida based AquaStar scooters have developed the second underwater scooter called the AquaStar2 AS2 as a recreational sea scooter, offering an affordable way to explore the ocean for novices and experts alike.

Based on the AS1, the AquaStar2 AS2 has an additional seat and helmet configured for two people. With the ability to dive to 12m (39ft) and a speed of 3.1mph (5km/h, 2.7knots), the AquaStar2 is an all-electric vehicle with batteries that last roughly 2 hours. The compressed air tanks only last 1hr and 10 minutes, and acts as a back-up system to bring the AquaStar2 to the surface should the electrical system fail.
The control is similar to a motorcycle handlebar and it is highly maneuverable, as well as offering the opportunity to explore much more ocean than if you were scuba diving. No diving certificates are required to use one, and you can step off the AquaStar2 to look around before getting back on to get some more air and scoot off to another reef.
