In an increasingly polluted world, designers are seeking solutions for humans to continue to live and thrive in contaminated urban environments.
New York University student Hana Marie Newman has created a rather unusual air-purifying outfit dubbed ‘8’, complete with oxygen tank and a bubble-like structure to surround and protect the body.
“8 challenges inverted quarantine and the response to perceived toxic environments by exposing it's folly and highlighting the next trend in the green movement with an elegant dress,” explains the artists’ website. “It is a catalyst for a larger conversation questioning how what we do individually influences the way we collectively solve problems and raises airwareness.”
