Creating perfume from your own urine may just be the ultimate act of recycling. American artist Cherry Tree (a.k.a Charity Blansit) is very conscientious about dealing with her waste – including recycling her bodily fluids.
After collecting a wide range of urine samples – with odor dependent on the food she consumed, she started experimenting with sugar and voilà – she had eau de toilette. Although currently not available for sale, the urine perfume project has sparked a lot of conversation around waste management.
