Just in time for Earth Day comes the amazing Cool Globes: Hot Ideas For A Cooler Planet art exhibit in Los Angeles. The eco-art show contains more than fifty super-sized planet earths created by artists from the USA. The globes each convey a different message about what ordinary citizens can do to help fight global warming. Fly Wisely from artist Lee Tracy is a globe covered in lights representing all the worlds’ airports, encouraging people to think about the contribution of flying to global greenhouse gases. Another globe is covered in 2000 seed packets to encourage people to eat locally.

Other globe sculptures focus on alternative energy, the importance of voting for the environment, recycling, supporting the Kyoto Protocol, carpooling, population, methane and water conservation.
The Cool Globes exhibit opens on Earth Day (April 22nd) at 11am in the Exposition Park, Rose Garden, 701 State Drive, Los Angeles. The exhibit runs from April 22 – July 23, 2009.
