Solar Grave Lights

To honor loved ones that have passed away, American industrial designer Lauren Von Dehsen, created simple yet elegant solar LED Grave Lights to place at gravesites.

“A key element in this concept is the cultural notion of lighting something throughout the night; we light objects to respect and honor,” explains Von Dehsen.

Drawing on the inspiration of flower forms, the designer created a basic sphere on a graceful stem-like pole. By altering the curve of the pole and placement of the sphere, a series of seven lamp configurations is revealed.

The solar Grave Lights are designed to be combined together, to create visual representations, and reveal the relationships of the individual, or individuals, being remembered.

The sunlight charges the solar panel during the day, with electrical energy stored in a battery and the Grave Light illuminates the gravestone via a small LED light at night, drawing power from the battery.
