Peace One Day

Peace One Day, held each year on September 21st, is a global day of ceasefire and non-violence started by British filmmaker Jeremy Gilley in 1999. In 2001, the United Nations General Assembly unanimously voted to establish an annual day of global ceasefire and non-violence on the UN International Day of Peace celebrated every 21st of September.

The Peace One Day movement hopes to get 3 billion more people involved by 2012.
