Silence is cool. March 21st is World Silent Day, part of a global community-based movement to provide a little peace and quiet for the Earth – for a couple of hours at least.
Similar in principal to Earth Hour, World Silent Day organizers ask that individuals around the globe sit quietly and not consume resources for a short period of time – from 10am to 2pm on March 21st, also the first day of Spring in the western hemisphere.

World Silent Day organizers suggest reducing all activities, including the use of motorized vehicles and energy, to reduce personal consumption and to reduce the use of natural resources.
World Silent Day was conceived in Bali prior to the Climate Change Conference (COP 13 UNFCCC) in December 2007, as a contribution by the Balinese community to tackle climate change.
