With Easter, Mother’s Day and Spring birthday season almost upon us, it is time to consider what are the most eco-friendly gifts and wrappings available. American artist Patricia Lee has come up with an eco-savvy alternative to single use, wrapping paper.
The innovative artist has created the BOBO Wrapping Scarf, designed after the Korean technique of wrapping gifts in fabric. Lee called her creations BOBO in homage to the Korean word for wrapping scarf, “bojagi”.
The wrapping scarf, unfamiliar to the West, has long been used in Korea and Japan as a multi-purpose wrapping device. Although the original bojagis were made from scraps of leftover fabric, Lee’s stunning and reusable wrappings are constructed from non-virgin materials and are a popular alternative to paper wrapping.
The BOBO Wrapping Scarves are easy to use and the BOBO can be used to wrap gifts, cover a wine bottle and as an alternative to the Easter basket.
Each scarf comes with an introduction and tying instructions. If you can tie your own shoe-laces then you can definitely tie-up a BOBO Wrapping Scarf around your gift of choice.
Prices range from $10-$58 and BOBOs comes in a variety of colors, styles and sizes.
