Edible Christmas Cards

E-mail Print

There are novel ways of recycling your Christmas cards, but a British graphic design agency has come up with one that’s easier to swallow - an edible Christmas card. Oxygen Creative, in Devon, England, is sending its customers an edible card this holiday season and demonstrating there are always fresh and green ways of marketing a business.

“Our card is printed on paper made from potato starch, the ink we use is edible and we have even signed the cards in edible ink. If your customers don’t want to keep the card they can simply eat it,” explained Steve Lodge, managing director of Oxygen Creative. The eco-friendly edible cards have a bowl of brussel sprouts on the front of the card and the message, “For a green Christmas with lower emissions…”.

Oxygen Creative is working to raise awareness about how businesses, both big and small, can be successful and green. “Meeting the British Standard shows we’re using less power, less fuel, recycling and ensuring that the marketing communications we produce are as green as possible,” added Steve. “While the card is a gimmick, it does highlight that you can make a difference to the environment in many ways.”
