Plastic bags, bottles, drinks cans, rags, salvaged metals, textiles and vintage beads are just a few of the items award-winning British jewellery designer Ann Ellis uses to create one-of-a-kind wearable works of art.
"Creating with these materials is relatively new, so working methods are pretty much undocumented. And because there is no established way of working, making each piece can be a real adventure in discovery", explains Ellis of her innovative material choices. The resulting jewellery is bright and colorful, while remaining stylish and sophisticated. Each piece is handcrafted and unique.
"I enjoy uniqueness, and the fun of creating one-offs. It's the differences that make something a little bit special,” she explains.
