
New York-based designer Stacey J. Lee creates elegant haute couture from recycled sample garments. Lee’s latest collection Re(-)creation includes various sweaters, dresses and hand-knit accessories, many of which morph into multi-use fashion items.

The Parsons School of Design graduate found that locating clothing donations to deconstruct and remake into her recycled clothing was surprisingly easy. The results are both wonderful and positive for the environment – keeping clothing out of the landfill as well as upcycling unwanted clothing into stunning new contemporary fashions.
