Recycle Your Jeans For Insulation

Recycled jeans image.

Turn your favorite denims into insulation via The Gap’s From Blue to Green Denim Drive. Take your well-used jeans to any Gap store in the USA until March 14 and receive 30% off new purchases and some seriously good karma.

All donated denims are turned into sustainable insulation that is donated to communities in need via Habitat For Humanity affiliates. Since the start of the program in 2006, the From Blue to Green Denim Drive has recycled more than 270,617 pieces of denim, insulating 540 homes and preventing 200 tons of denim from being sent to landfills.

It takes more than five hundred pairs of jeans to create enough insulation for a 2,300sq.ft. (213.7m2) home – so get donating!

Hmm, I never heard of this! Ironically I deal with the insulation grants available at the moment (UK) – and I just threw mine out to charity! I will defiantly be looking out for this when I next have a clear out.
