American designer Christina Liedtke transformed more than six hundred peanut M&M candy wrappers into an elegant flower motif evening dress. The yellow wrappers were cut and sewn into the 1,800 flower designs that cover the upcycled gown, in a labour intensive effort that took more than 100 hours to complete.
The M&M evening gown is featured at TerraCycle’s Greenup! Popup Shop in New York City. The shop features TerraCycle’s line of over 100 products made from common waste materials such as chip bags, food wrappers, yogurt cups, glue bottles and writing instruments.
The Greenup! Popup Shop is open until May 10, 2010.
