Green fashionistas can now brag that eco-fashion has hit the big time. A recycled candy wrapper bag from Ecoist made its film debut in the recently released Sex and The City 2. Ecoist’s Silver Mega was carried by Samantha Jones (actress Kim Cattrall) in a shopping scene with Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker).
“We chose the Silver Mega because its very modern, the proportion is perfect, it went great with her look,” explained Danny Santiago, Sex and the City’s stylist.
Ecoist handbags are handcrafted from upcycled candy wrappers, soda labels, magazines, and other waste-bound materials. Since 2004, Ecoist has saved more than 15 million candy wrappers from going into the landfill.
