Who knew denim could look so fabulous? Persona, the latest project by renowned artist and fashion designer Jeffrey Wang (founder of Blanq World) consists of old Levi Strauss' jeans transformed into stunning wearable art. The joint project, in collaboration with Levi and the Taiwanese Fubon Art Foundation, alters simple denim jeans into handmade sculptural couture using only safety pins to hold the garments together.
“In creating this project I think it was very important that we kept the "raw" personality of denim jeans and applying it like a sculpture so there was no cutting, sewing or any use of fashion technical skills,” explains Wang of his project.
The five-garment collection, comprised of dresses and skirts, manage to look both utterly contemporary and futuristic while also maintaining the familiar personality of the jeans.
