The tendency to adorn ourselves with remnants of dead animals is completely unnecessary, as is the seemingly endless obsession with wearing fur to convey wealth and status, or feathers to convey your street cred (thanks Ke$ha for creating that stupid and destructive trend!).

New York-based eco-fashion designer Victoria Bartlett of VPL Design, working in the medium of human hair, has created a sweater series and most recently a hirsute accessory line for the fabulous anti-fur Pinnacle Magazine run by Joshua Katcher, an artist, writer, stylist, and animal rights' advocate.

Bartlett's hair accessories include broaches, necklaces and bracelets.
