South Korean university student Jang Woo-seok has designed a self-recovering wastewater recycling system for the bathroom. The Eco Bath system concept takes water from sink use and combines it with ‘clean’ water to flush the toilet. The Eco Bath system uses 50% recycled water and 50% clean water, and effectively cuts water use in half.

North Americans, like many other developed nations, urinate and defecate into clean water every time they use the toilet. Each time we flush the typical toilet, it uses an estimated 20 litres per flush. Low flow toilets still use about 5-6 litres of clean water per flush.
“All creatures on the earth share the water but only humans waste water,” explains designer Woo-seok.
