Swiss industrial and product designer Anne-Cécile Rappa makes all manner of functional artwork from recycled objects. Her bright pink Latifa carpet is made from old rice bags and recycled plastic bags.
"The base of the carpet is an old rice bag used as the structure. We cut short strips in the polypropylene bags and then tie them inside the rug,” explains the artist. “You can use it outside but you can also wash it in a washing machine"
