Chilean artist Rodrigo Alonso Schramm takes plastic waste obtained from electronic devices, toys, drink trays and stadium seats and turns them into stunning items of furniture. Using a ‘rotomoulded’ technique, the artist transforms the recycled plastic into unique objects that are both beautiful and durable for his new 100% recycled plastic furniture line.
“The product is completely sustainable, even when reaching the end of its lifetime, it can be re-crushed and re-rotomoulded to form a new object,” explains the artist. “Such processes allow a massive use of plastic waste, allowing the recycling and sustainability concepts to be truly successful and not just a trend.”
The 100% Rotomoulded line was designed for Fahneu, an urban equipment company in Santiago de Chile.
