The Living Cactus Chair

Architect Deger Cengiz explores the effect of visual data on the user’s experience with his living Cactus Chair. The limited edition prickly seat includes a Barrel Cactus, river stones and dirt with a green tinted glass frame.

“The existence of the cactus gives a temporary discomfort, even though the user knows that the cactus behind the glass is not a real threat,” explains Cengiz.

The Cactus Chair was presented by Voos Furniture during the New York Design Week 2010.
