Earth Day Postal Stamps

The Go Green stamp series.

For Earth Day 2011, the United States Postal Service has created a set of sixteen Go Green stamps showcasing the many ways people can help the planet. The Go Green suggestions include planting trees, recycling, turning down the heat and using public transport.

“We could have shown big concepts or broad-stroke initiatives, like wind power or solar power,” says William Gicker, creative director of Stamp Development, “but we wanted to send the message that each one of us can take small, everyday steps to make our world a greener place.”

The Earth Day stamp series are the work of artist Eli Noyes, founder of Climate Cartoons, a non-profit group that creates kid-friendly environmental messages.

Very nice, great idea. I just wish they had included one about switching to a plant-based diet. ("Buy local produce" doesn't really go there. Everyone eats produce.) It's not a small individual step, it's a big one.
