Innovative China-based artist Sin Tsz Ching, Kobo has created a challenging art installation dealing with our disconnection from the natural world. Dubbed Freakshow (2011), the artist deliberately set out to “…confront and shock people by turning unwanted and unused parts of nature into provocative products and pulling nature back into people’s minds” by creating a series of surreal lights and even a coffee table.

There is a coffee table and lamp made from animal bones and a hanging lamp made from omentum (part of the stomach) and intestine.

“By incorporating elements of the animal world into a whole series of decorative furniture and lighting. Using those parts normally thrown away or ignored,” explains the artist. “The result is a set of freakish lights and a coffee table that both appeal and repulse.
