The Migrating Floating Gardens, from Rael San Fratello Architects, is a futuristic concept designed to help supply much needed greenery in concrete environments.
The Migrating Floating Gardens are comprised of inflatable dirigible airships covered in thousands of plants with the ability to detect weather, traffic, pollution, noise and other urban data in real time via external sensors. The floating airships move in large swarms around a city, positioning themselves where the greatest amount of heat or pollution is being generated.
Controlled by GPS and GIS geo-information systems and organized in flocking patterns, the floating airships move through the urban environment hydrating, providing shade, and cleaning the air.
