Have you ever wondered what it might feel like to spend the night nestled in a bird’s nest high in the treetops? Well, wonder no more. Swedish design studio Inrednin Gsgruppen, have created a bird’s nest room as part of the larger Tree Hotel located in northern Sweden. The Tree Hotel is home to several unique rooms (including a Mirror Room and UFO Room), but “The Nest” is by far our favourite design.
Covered in twigs and located high in the treetops, the small room is accessible via a retractable staircase and inside there is enough space for a family with two children. Coachwork panels decorate the interior walls and the windows are almost hidden by the tree branches.
“This concept is based upon the contrast between exterior and interior. From the outside it appears as a big nest, only the scale separating it from other nests in the vicinity,” explain the designers. “Inside it’s a high standard room with modern design. The bedroom is a separate room with sliding doors.”
