HandyTank Rainwater Catchment

Rainwater catchment is something every home should have. With fresh water supplies running low, water restrictions and drought conditions become more prevalent, it is important that people in water wasting countries start to realize the true value of water. Every barrel of water harvested from rainfall is a barrel of water saved.

Imagine if every household in North America (population of 339.2million people) captured even one 208 liter standard barrel of rainwater a year, this would potentially save more than 70.6 billion liters of drinking water (18.7 billion US gallons)– enough water to fill 28,240 Olympic-sized swimming pools each year.

There are many different water catchment options to choose from, including wooden rum barrels and the plastic barrels popular with municipal subsidized water conservation programs.

The 450 liter HandyTank (equivalent to just over two standard sized barrels of water or almost 119 US gallons) was developed to help address Australia's extreme water shortage crisis. It is the first portable water barrel we have ever seen. It also has a hose attachment so you can use the water directly from the tank. Quick to set up and folds up small enough to fit in the trunk of a car.
