McDonald's Happy Meal.

Are the plastic toys in McDonald’s Happy Meals harmful to your child’s health? American-based Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) believes that McDonald’s Happy Meals are contributing to unhealthy eating in children and is  threatening to sue McDonald’s if they don’t stop using toys to entice children into wanting the unhealthy and high fat foods.

"McDonald's marketing has the effect of conscripting America's children into an unpaid drone army of word-of-mouth marketers, causing them to nag their parents to bring them to McDonald's," CSPI's Stephen Gardner wrote to the heads of the chain in a letter announcing the lawsuit.

CSPI’s notice letter says that McDonald’s toy-related promotions violate state consumer protection laws in Massachusetts, Texas, the District of Columbia, New Jersey, and California. CSPI’s letter gives McDonald’s 30 days to agree to stop the practice before a suit is filed.

McDonald’s is the stranger in the playground handing out candy to children,” said CSPI litigation director Stephen Gardner. “McDonald’s use of toys undercuts parental authority and exploits young children’s developmental immaturity—all this to induce children to prefer foods that may harm their health. It’s a creepy and predatory practice that warrants an injunction.”

This just goes to show people will push the problem off on others. This is a ridiculous lawsuit, by this i ask is it fast food that "HELPS" not causes but helps lead to obesity in our children or bad parenting. i have 3 children of my own so as a father its my responsability to plan my childrens meals i could take the easy route and buy them happy meals wich i do from time to time as a treat but on the whole i chose to make them healthy meals. We as parents decide what our children eat not our children, Its simple they ask and i have a two letters response "NO" say it with me everyone NO if they miss behave because of this then they know they are acting in a way that will lead to disipline. We are the parents so we are in charge because we have more knowledge and experience for making safe and healthy choices for our children. If you are letting your kids talk you into things u need to take a step back and reasses your situation if you dont care then your simply a bad parent not fit to raise children.
