It’s almost that time of year again. The time when the sumptuous harvest of fruit, vegetables, fish and meat from Vancouver Island is transformed into a mouth-watering banquet better known as Vancouver Island’s Feast of Fields.

Held each year on a different farm, this annual fundraiser for the community farming organization Farm Folk/City Folk is the hottest local food ticket of the year. Described as ‘a gastronomic journey towards a sustainable, local food system’, guests wander around a gorgeous farm with a wine glass and linen napkin in hand, sampling gourmet local cuisine, wines and beers from more than 200 Vancouver Island chefs, farmers, vintners, brewers and food artisans to raise awareness of the enjoyment and importance of eating locally and sustainably.

Showcasing the very best of the island’s horn of plenty, participants in this year’s 13th annual Feast of Fields Vancouver Island include Camille's Restaurant, Pizzeria Prima Strada, Tigh-Na-Mara, Vista 18, Mistaken Identity Vineyards, Sooke Harbour House, Vin Coco Patisserie, Natural Pastures Cheese Company and many more top notch restaurants, chefs and food producers that are simply too numerous to list.
This year, Vancouver Island’s Feast of Fields will be held at the stunning Parry Bay Sheep Farm in Metchosin on Sunday, September 19, 2010, from 1-5pm. Feast tickets are now on sale, but get them as soon as possible, as every year since the event started in 1998, the Feast of Fields has sold out. Tickets are CAN$85 for adults, children 7-12 CAN$15 and children under 6 are free. Vancouver Island Feast Bus tickets, if required, are CAN$10.
