Supermarket vegetable tags that eliminate waste are the brilliant design concept from UK student Ben Huttly. The clever Vegetable Label designs replace the plastic tags and elastic or wire ties with 100% biodegradable seed-embedded paper tags and recyclable natural cotton twine.
“Having noticed just how unnecessary supermarket fruit and vegetable packaging has become I decided I would focus my attention on that. It brought the question: How can I inspire people to start growing fruit and vegetables at home?” explains the young designer.
The seed laden labels can easily be planted and will help encourage people to grow their own veggies at home, as well as eliminate those annoying plastic tags.
