If you like to have fresh herbs in the kitchen, Czech designer Krstyna Pojerova’s Glasshouse Lamp will provide them, along with a funky looking light to illuminate your cooking.

Herb plants grow inside the glass lamp inner edge, on a channel formed to provide soil and moisture. The lamplight bulb provides warmth and the central opening with upper vent holes gives an ideal sprouting and growing climate.

Pojerova, a student at Prague's Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design, wanted a method to provide fresh herbs in a kitchen and use waste heat from kitchen lighting.
