Thousands of pounds of apples poured into the New York subway in a bid to raise awareness about how much food is wasted in the city each year.

The computer generated scene is part of a New York's City Harvest Food Bank video campaign, highlighting how more than 270,000lbs of food is wasted in NY each day, while thousands of residents don't have enough to eat.
