Furniture that can be consumed after you are finished with it is the focus of a new artwork prototype, Panpaati, created by Spanish industrial designer Enoc Armengol.

The edible furniture, comprised of two chairs and a side table made entirely from baked bread, follows what the artists describes as a ‘...vital cycle, in which its born, lives, and dies without leaving rest’.

“100% alive matter. 100% biodegradable. Somehow this installation can be a clear reflection from the actual society and production process. Fast, and the short-time life of the current, almost ephemeral furniture. Nevertheless, these pieces can also be eaten, becoming part of the living process,” explains the Barcelona-based artist of his project.
