Dutch designer Pieter Brenner has created the world’s first chair made entirely of sugar. Using organic sugar would definitely make this edible furniture piece greener. However, the use of unusual materials for conventional design is intriguing.
“The user can play an active part in the design with form and the dimensions of the object himself,” explains Brenner. “The more consumed, the less mass is left of the chair."
The SugarChair is on display at the KISDshop in Cologne until June 5th 2011.
