Reusable Steel Pizza Box

Pizza, as delicious as it is, packs a hell of an environmental impact, aside from all the genetically modified wheat used to generate the flour and the factory farms needed to produce the cheese and toppings, it is estimated that more than 3 billion cardboard pizza boxes end up in the landfill each year in the USA alone.

Although pizza boxes are eligible for most blue box recycling programs, the greasy cheese and sauce left over in the box often deems them too contaminated for recycling. California-based Good News Reuse has come up with an innovative design solution to the pizza box problem with their reusable pizza dish, and they have dubbed their stainless steel (and BPA free) certified food grade creation Pi Pan.

The Pi Pan would ideally work for regular customers like businesses, schools and families with regular pizza parties where they can keep the Pi Pan until their next delivery and then simply return the empty pizza pan they got in the previous delivery.  Although still in the design concept stage, Good News Reuse is using IndieGoGo to raise funds for the project.
