Food artists and designers from around the world recently gathered in Barcelona to create stunning edible sculptures, jewels and astounding installations – all made entirely from sugar. The gourmet artists, at the inaugural Oh!BCN Exhibit, used sugar as an art medium, transforming this common food stable into some truly delicious works of art.
“Artisans create prototypes of future glass designs by creating them with “blown” sugar,” explains the company’s website. “Over the course of three days, several teams of local and international glass artists and designers got together with food experts and chemists to create one collaborative piece that expressed the “collective identity” of Barcelona.”
