The Eden Project, from Irish designer David Barry, is a green design solution for urban apartment living where residents can utilize personal portable gardens during the growing season. When winter comes, the portable gardens can be stored in a central greenhouse.
Based on a similar concept to an urban garden or kitchen garden, the Eden Project’s portable garden concept will help urban dwellers access the ability to grow food.
“People living in cramped apartments can leave these pots in certain public spaces,” explains David Barry. “The benefit to city is well maintained greenery in public spaces”.
The Eden Pot has hidden wheels to make it portable and a storage compartment where gardeners can store their gardening equipment when not in use. A clear plastic cover is used in harsh weather to protect buds and seedlings.
