Worldchanging Book Cover

It just doesn’t get any better than this. WorldChanging: A User’s Guide For the 21st Century, is the guide to our rapidly changing world. With articles from some 70 of the world’s innovative, designers, journalists, futurists, technicians and thinkers (including Al Gore who wrote the foreword), WorldChanging is a blueprint of how the world could look, a blueprint of both hope and innovation. Al Gore describes the book as; “a compendium of solutions, some little known but well proven, some innovative and new, some bold but as yet untried”.

WorldChanging is divided into chapters which cover every aspect of our collective life on the planet from greening your home, compost toilets, environmental refugee camp innovations, life-saving water gathering devices, futuristic house and furniture design, eco-villages, car less cities, solar cars, tool sharing programs, micro loans, and healing polluted land, to name a few.

WorldChanging originated with an online community where individuals shared their ideas and innovations on how to make the world a better place. From that dynamic online world, the book WorldChanging was born.

Editor Alex Steffen explains the book as offering ‘ideas on how to change the world’. Steffen adds that he believes in the power of the individual, how much we depend upon one another, how much trouble we are currently in and how wonderful our future can be. But changing the world will take a serious dose of ingenuity and hope, both of which are readily available in WorldChanging.
