Just in time for Earth Day comes a hilarious alternative to the mainstream green media - Greener-Schnitzels – an environmental monthly webisode series that blends sketch comedy and documentary filmmaking to talk about global warming.
The new eco-series is the brainchild of the dynamic film duo, Chris Metzler and Jeff Springer, that created the quirky and brilliant Plagues & Pleasures on the Salton Sea.
“For those of you who believe in the green movement, but also crave some comic relief from serious green programming, this is the webs series for you. With a humorous, often irreverent view of going green, this series will tell off-beat stories from unlikely places,” explains series co-creator Chris Metzler.
From a sketch about burping cows to a profile of eco-minded wrestlers to an exploration of environmental psychoses (like re-using bathwater), the filmmakers will attempt to present fresh monthly content for jaded eyes.
“The first episode premieres alongside other traditional Earth Day celebrations so as to serve as counter-programming to some of the more serious media coverage of the day,” explains Metzler. “We believe Greener-Schnitzels can be a way of actually presenting this important information, while feeling like entertainment - fast-paced and informative internet TV for the ADD generation.”
The premiere episode focuses on burping cows and the effects of methane.
