E-mail Print

On June 5th 2009 for World Environment Day, the carbon neutral documentary Home, directed by Yann Arthus-Bertrand and narrated by Glenn Close, will be simultaneously, and mostly free of charge, be released on every format – movie theatres, TV, DVD and internet (until June 14th) with the aim to reach the widest possible audience, and to convince us all our of collective responsibility towards the planet.

This it the first time that a film will be released on the same day in over 80 countries. The hour and a half long documentary film, comprised of aerial images from more than 50 countries, is designed to help people understand both the damage that has been done to the earth and also to remind people of the wonderment of the planet.

“The film has a very clear message. We have a greater impact on the Earth than it can bear. We over-consume and are depleting the Earth's resources. From the air, it's easy to see the Earth's wounds,” explains director Yann Arthus-Bertrand. “In a few short decades, humanity has upset the balance of the planet…humanity has barely ten years to reverse the trend.”
