Planet Green is about to give Sundance Channel’s The Green a run for its money with the launch of their 'Reel Impact' documentary series. Each week the Discovery Communications-owned Planet Green (they also own Treehugger.com) will host a weekly two-hour block of documentary programming starting September 12th from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Documentary films includes old favorites like Leonardo DiCaprio's The 11th Hour, An Inconvenient Truth and Who Killed the Electric Car?, coupled with more recent additions to the green film genre including The Last Beekeeper by director Jeremy Simmons, "No Impact Man" by Laura Gabbert and Eden Wurmfeld, Barbara Ettinger's film A Sea Change and Black Wave: The Legacy of the Exxon Valdez by Robert Cornellier.

"Whether it's the mystery of shrinking bee populations, the journey of a man facing the reality of our future seas, or the rise and fall of this country's first battery electric vehicle, these documentaries deliver timely and unique insights," explains Laura Michalchyshyn, president of Planet Green.
