Have you got a minute? One minute to save the world to be exact. The One Minute To Save The World film competition is calling on filmmakers – everyone from amateurs to professionals – to put their film making skills towards helping save the planet from climate change.

In a bid to raise public and political support in the lead up to the UN Copenhagen Climate Conference and continuing until global CO2 targets have been met, the One Minute to Save The World film competition hopes that a bevy of short climate change films will make a difference.

The Climate Conference in December 2009 is seen as a pivotal meeting where the world’s leaders will (attempt to) replace the Kyoto Treaty with a new global climate deal. At the meeting it is essential that world leaders commit their governments to reducing their CO2 emissions by at least 25% by 2012 and 80% by 2050.

The deadline for One Minute To Save The World competition entries is October 5, 2009 and the winning film, aside from earning fame and having the pleasure of helping save the world, also gets a £1,000 prize.
