In Other Worlds by Margaret Atwood.

World renowned Canadian writer Margaret Atwood and forest advocacy non-profit Canopy, in a North American first, are issuing a limited edition of Atwood’s new book, In Other Worlds: SF and the Human Imagination, printed on straw paper left-over from this year’s grain harvest.

In Other Worlds: SF and the Human Imagination is based on Atwood’s relationship with science fiction and brings together three previously unpublished lectures. Atwood said, “I joined Canopy in this trial to show that we can meet our paper needs using low-footprint straw instead of relying on endangered forests, …Second Harvest Paper is the kind of practical innovation that could make paper from endangered forests ancient history.”

The Canopy developed Second Harvest Paper as an alternative to conventional papers. Canopy’s Second Harvest Paper is an attempt to diversify paper resourcing and lowering demand on endangered forests for paper products. North American straw waste could save 800 million trees every year.

Signed special edition copies of In Other Worlds printed on Second Harvest Paper are available exclusively through Canopy.
