The annual Planet in Focus International Environmental Film & Video Festival, Canada's biggest environmental film festival, got started this week in Toronto, Canada. The festival runs from October 22 to 26.
Aside from their slew of environmental films (including Blue Gold, Addicted to Plastic and over 100 more eco-themed films), the festival's theme is Food: The Big Picture. This year's theme features 15 food films and highlights local and global concerns about food: looking at the people who grow, cultivate, process, cook, celebrate and transport it, as well as the decision-makers and businesses engaged in the food arena; and ultimately, the direct connection between the state of the environment with what, and how, we eat.
The Planet in Focus Festival is renowned for its outstanding and compelling environmental films and videos, created by Canadian and international filmmakers.
