Reusable bags have gone from being boring and bland to this year’s must have fashion item. In fact, nothing says I care about the environment more than a trendy reusable bag.
Enter sister designer duo Ashley and Kimberly Ulmer and their fabulous new bag business - Green Eyed Monster. These gals have taken the mundane (and somewhat humble) reusable bag and turned it into an artistic environmental statement.

Their popular bags are a bit larger than the standard cloth bag (15" X 18" X 4"), made with 100% recycled cotton and plastic bottles but best of all, each bag is a limited edition work of art.

The savvy sisters have activated the art community to submit their eco-artwork in various bag design competitions. The winners get a juicy cash prize and their artwork is featured on a limited print run of the latest Green Eyed Monster bag. Only 1,000 bags are printed for each design. Currently, Green Eyed Monster is running an Earth Day Competition with art submissions due by March 31, 2009.

Bags cost $25. A portion of the proceeds from bag sales go to 1% For The Planet.
