Those crazy American kids at TerraCycle have gone and created the first nationally distributed product line made from upcycled vinyl records and circuit boards. Their novel products include clocks made from computer circuit boards or vinyl records, coasters from circuit boards and picture frames made from either vinyl records or circuit boards.
TerraCycle explains that every time consumers upgrade their PC, TV, stereo, or other electronics, they add to the colossal stream of e-waste. In 2005, Americans generated 2.6 million tons of e-waste according to the Environmental Protection Agency. Of this amount, only 12.6% was recycled.
TerraCycle remains one of the most fascinating new companies in the USA, all products that the company sells are made from waste or reclaimed materials including drink box bags, cookie wrappers notebooks, pencils made from newspaper and e-waste trash cans.
