200 obsolete Speedo LZR Racer swim briefs have been upcycled into a stunning metal beam structure at the recent London Festival of Architecture. Designed and constructed by Chelsea College of Art & Design undergraduate students, the Xpo Pavilion Project showcased tiny swim trunks stretched between crossbeams of the structure.

According to Speedo, the LZR Racer is the most technologically advanced performance swimsuit ever produced; swimmers wearing the LZR Racer have broken over 90 world records since the suit’s launch in 2008. Due to regulation changes in competitive swimsuits at the FINA (Fédération Internationale de Natation), the LZR Racer was banned from being used in professional competitions and rendered obsolete.
