A particularly hot summer in Seoul, Korea provided the inspiration for the Where The Green Grass Grows (WTGGG) Flip Flops. Seoul-born, London-based artist Hyock Kwon created the ingenious flip flops for an exhibition.
“It was a very hot summer and I wore flip flops everywhere,” explains the artist of his inspiration. “All the asphalt and concrete in the city made the summer hotter and the city more barren, so came the WTGGG project - day dreaming about walking bare feet on grass all day long.”
The flip flops were later reincarnated as part of an art installation on a hillside in the Isle of Bute, Scotland.
